Unohana being a sword demon that will teach Kenpachi swordsmanship is maybe the best thing ever. If Kenpachi's epic worfing turns out to just be a way to hilight how unfocused his power was and he is subsequently redeemed by this most awesome of training ideas, I'll be very happy.

And it makes sense too when you think about it.

And after remembering parts about Kenpachi's past that I've forgotten a long time ago, my confusion about Unohana's name was cleared up. When Kenpachi first met Yachiru, she was just a nameless baby. So he named her after someone he respected. There is no relation between them other than names.

I agree. This is a much higher caliber of reveal than the whole quincy Ichigo nonsense.

Still, I have to say that One Piece is the Shounen Jump manga that's been crushing it lately. Big fan of seeing gas guy getting smacked in the face.

Hell yeah man, beyond satisfying. I wonder if Ceasar is actually gonna get killed. He's clearly way too dangerous to just let go.

And you think Chopper's gonna become more important? The guy has an understanding and control of Zoan fruits that is unmatched by anyone. Eventually someone's gonna notice.

Alrighty, three things:

1) Bleach has caught my interest again, Unohana's been hiding a lot of secrets.

2) One Piece continues to be awesome, gotta wonder how fubar'd the sitch will get with Joker on his way and that mysterious figure chilling on the seas.

3) Who here follows Oriental Sacred Place? It seems to have ended, but WOW! on what a note! A deliciously cute one too.

Personally, I'm guessing that the mysterious figure floating on the sea is Mihawk. There's a piece jutting out from the silhouette that looks like it might be the crossguard of his monster sword. Also, he arrived in a one man rowboat the first time he showed up.

I loved the reveal with unohana. All the fanfic with her terrifying everyone by just smiling makes much more sense, the full page scene of her smirking at kenpachi is glorious!

One Piece - Seriously Law, Ussop did warn you, and dear lord Luffy, why do you insist on such dangerous things? As one youtube commenter put it, "I think it's a testament to the strength of the Strawhats that their Captain hasn't accidentally killed them yet."
Bleach - The Old Man when he unleashed his bankai was awe-inspiring in both senses of the phrase; scary as hell, but as amazing as hell...AT THE SAME TIME! Now, Unohana? *shivers*

I agree with you on The Old Man, but I gotta disagree with Unohana. It was too predictable. That she was originally some sort of master swordsman beyond all ken is old fanfic material, and while pretty good material, and not poorly executed in canon, it wasn't hard to predict from the way Kubo writes.

I personally don't put a lot of thought into Bleach, so I didn't see it coming at all. I just think it's awesome! I always wanted to see Kenpachi reach his full potential. And revealing Unohana to be the woman he admired... I've been waiting for Kubo to touch on this for years, so to me it's gratifying as hell.

Also, I hope Kenpachi's tear doesn't touch the ground. It may unravel the fabric of the soul society.

It looks like it cast an illusion on the opponent making them feel like their flesh is melting away but he fought through it. Have seen kenpachi go to the point of death to enjoy a fight before so I doubt he would stop fighting then. That does not explain why kenpachi saw her as a skeleton though. Weird.
