Has anyone here red this book or any of the other books in this series?
It is a fantasy series by George R. R. Martin.
Apparntly HBO will turn it into a tv series.

I've read the first two books and liked them so much. I certainly hope that Mr. Martin doens't pull a Robert Jordan on us (it took me a while to admit that he actually...*gulp* died.)

If you haven't read the books...do so.

I have read the first 3 books a couple times now. I read the fourth one, but it had none of the characters I like, and all the ones I don't care about in it, so don't much care for it.

Incredibly addictive series, but a vital warning is it WILL make you sad, if your lucky. If not, you will become addicted and depressed at the same time, like me and others. There is no escape!

I have read the 2 first books in the series and I liked them.
Since it they have a good story and both Sean Bean and Peter Dinklage in it
the series should be entertaining :lurk:

If you are a fan of fantasy you owe it to yourself to give the series a try. Although I do agree with Zankaru Zelladonii the fourth book was not as good simply because some of the character I enjoyed the most didn't appear. Although A Dance With Dragons is out and I am gung ho again for the series. If you are into comics look for the Hedge Knight. It is based in the Song of Ice and Fire world and was a great read. I haven't watched the TV show yet. Any opinions on the TV show?

I felt the show was a well done and fairly faithful adaptation of the books. A few scenes were added and some were naturally cut, but it was easy to follow the books from it, and vise versa. Better than most such attempts. I

Of course, there is a cornucopia of violence and nudity, but given that it was HBO and this series in particular, hard to imagine otherwise.
Odd that. It actually worked.
