Looking for Gaming Groups

Looking for Gaming Groups

Unread postby bibliophile20 » May 5th, 2008, 10:14 pm

Alright then, this thread is for the seeking and organization of gaming groups out there in the real world (note, need Matrix emoticon). Just say where you're from and if you're a GM looking for players, or players looking for a gaming group, and which system or two is your preference to play if you're a player or which system you'll be running, if you're a GM. I'll do my best to keep an up-to-date list on this post.

Players looking for GMs:

Atlanta, GA (played over Skype so any location is fine)
Viridian, Runsamok (Shadowrun 4, D&D 3.5)

Rochester, NY
bibliophile20 (D&D, Shadowrun 4)
ecs05norway (Battletech, Starfleet Battles, Advanced Squad Leader, Third Reich, etc.)

Cleveland, OH
Bibliophile20 (D&D 4.0)

Topeka, KS
SilentWasteland (D&D, any edition. Also willing to try something else out)

Galveston, TX
Kal (D&D, Star Wars)

Central Oklahoma
SLAMU (Any system, will bring cookies)

Chicago, IL
Graybane (D&D 3.0, 3.5)

Karrde (Any system)

GameMasters looking for players:

Atlanta, GA (played over Skype so any location is fine)
Viridian, Runsamok (Shadowrun 4, D&D 3.5)

Alright, now that I have the reserved post and the primary post, the reason I started this thread in the first place:

Do we have anyone in Rochester, New York, that's interested in Shadowrun or Dungeons and Dragons 3.5?

And does anyone know about any groups in Cleveland, Ohio that will be playing D&D 4th ed when it comes out and would be willing to take on a 15-year-old RPG newbie girl? (my little sister; she's been bitten by the gamer bug, and I want to find her a good group to play with)

For which systems? And are you a player looking for a GM or a GM looking for players?

Kinda depends. I do like to DM, but only after I get a good feel for the group. I have only played with friends in the past, as gaming is a release and a chance to be social. That being said, I enjoy playing D&D and Star Wars most (I talked a bit about this in my "introduction"/newbie post if you want more info).

Add Atlanta, GA, mainly looking for Shadowrun, 4th edition - maybe D&D 3.5. Probably on weekends, now that Lindsey has started her new job.

Do you want me to put you under players, GMs or both?

I'd add my own name and location to this, but given that I can walk a few hundred yards from my house, then see nothing but empty prairie all the way to the horizon in almost every direction, it would seem rather pointless.

Closest gaming group to me is 35 miles away, and these days, that's just too far to freakin' travel.

I realize I haven't been actively posting for a while.... but I still visit and lurk from time to time. But if you do get a PbP group up, let me know. I had started a gaming group with my friends, but recently lost three of them, so we're on hold.

Edit: Just saw the signup thread. I'll be looking over Shadowrun rules and seeing if I'm interested in giving it a shot.

True, but I'll have to rearrange my schedule - after all, I work through the daytime, and spend my nights and weekends perfecting my warrior robot race, building them one laser gun at a time. I will do my best to teach them about life and what it's worth. I just hope that I can keep them from destroying the Earth. :biggrin1

Don't worry. I'll make sure to send only fembots after you. Well-endowed fembots. I'll even let you choose skin tones and hair colors.

Due to a lack of luck finding regular players, we've opened up a sub-forum for an online Shadowrun campaign. Anyone here is welcome to join, you can ask questions in the admin sub-forum, or shoot me an email.

By the way, Ed, most of our games are conducted by Skype voice chat. So it doesn't really matter where you are, as long as you can run skype and RPTools Maptool, and you are awake / available to play at a time the GMs are running it.
