Wired Magazine: Exclusive Preview: D&D 4.0 Character Sheet

Looks spiffy; it's a sheet for a high level Dragonborn paladin/astral weapon named "Aleeya"; I'm particularly intrigued by the "Passive Insight" and "Passive Perception" that means no more rolling for Spot and Listen checks.

Anyway, I'm mostly just wondering if this is the entire thing, or if it is page one of two or three of a standard set.

No magic items listed, so probably not complete.

Well there is a +3 longsword on there, right? And really, what else do you need but a big magical sword? Especially when you're a level 15 dragonkin paladin.

Actually, that would be nice. No more needing a million different little magical items to do your job. It would balance better that way. No more throwing the party in a jail, the wizard breaks out and has to free the others because without weapons and armor they suck. :P

Warlocks do pretty well naked too. As do monks. Dragonfire adpets. Sorcerors. Soulknives. Psionicists of all kinds.... need I go on?

But there are a lot of 'quality of life' items (see the other thread) that make a difference if your GM isn't a total slacker at keeping track of things.

Also, gear is a HUGE customization factor. Take that away and all 10th level fighters tend to look and play alike.

(Of course, given the Warlock's ability to imbue magic items, I tend to pay more attention to both of those issues.)

Druids don't do too bad in the buff either.

Out of curiosity, what book is the warlock class from? They sound pretty cool, but I've never played with them, and I can't find them in any of the books I have on my computer. I'm curious as to what they can do.

I knew I was forgetting one.

Warlocks were introduced in Complete Arcane, and they got some goodies in Complete Mage as well.

Look at the saving throws, they take the highest ability mod of the two that point to them :o !

This Pally is using strength for fortitude and charisma for will.

This is shaping up to be pretty cool :waytogo
