Hello,

I'm creating a contest to name the AuthorLord's fanbase.
Specifically, what do you want to be called, as an overall group?
How shall the AuthorLord address his faithful readers?

I'm also taking suggestions for a proper reward for the person who submits the "winning" entry.
There will be a forum poll to vote on appropriate entries.

Please don't use profanity in your contest entries.
The goal is a respectful name that you'd actually want to use.

I was going to suggest Team Authorlord, you know, like Team Edward or Team whatever-the-other-guy's-name-was, but decided that if I did that, I'd have to leave and never return out of shame.

So yeah, Team Authorlord.

I had a idea that is related to jgkitarel's, in that the acronym could be R(abidly) O(bsessed) U(?) S(erfs), but I'm having trouble thinking of a 'u' word that would fit.

Unusual? None of us are what you'd call "normal". And we like it just fine.

If you're still accepting submissions to this contest, how about:

Readerminions, (since we're all beholden to the Evil Authorlord) or ViridaMinions/Virid'aMinions, if you prefer puns.

Blue-Green Dreamies (because 'viridian' is a type of blueish green - not to be confused with Blue Meanies, mind you.)

Come to think of it, you could combine the 'minion' aspect and the 'blue(-green)' aspect from the two previous ideas, and have:

Smerfs (= serfs + Smurfs)

And finally, something for the FF.net crowd:

House S'TarKan (Updates Are Coming... Right?)

Also, re: reward, you could consider emulating Eliezer "LessWrong" Yudkowsky's example - in order to give people an incentive to contribute cool stuff to his fanfic Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, he offered them the opportunity to get a named character of their choosing added as a cameo in a future chapter. (Personally, I managed to bribe him to add Adrian "Mad Drongo" Turnipseed to chapter 86; after all, what story about wizards can be considered complete without at least one visiting alumnus from Unseen University?) :D

Maybe you could offer the person who provides the winning suggestion for a fan-base name with the chance to name a random minor supporting character in an upcoming chapter of a fanfic of their choosing? :) (Presumably HP:NFP, since it seems to be next in line to receive an update.)
