Renraku Researcher Implicated in Poisoning Plot
[KSAF Exclusive] Seattle, UCAS: The sordid story of a love triangle gone wrong brings the illegal testing of a thaumaturgical bioweapon out of the shadows of Seattle. Dr. Ronald Ferber, a researcher and frequent consultant for Renraku, overheard the complaints of Leonard Cromwell, Blue Devils bass player and body-mod hobbyist, at a party. As their conversation developed, Dr. Ferber learned that Leonard had an unrequited passion for Marla Brock, vocalist for the Blue Devils, and groused about what he perceived was ineffective management and a lack of results from the band's manager and husband to Marla, Armando Brock. Our sources reveal that Leonard received a large monetary bonus from Dr. Ferber for passing along contact information to Armando at an opportune time. Armando, who often dealt with the stresses of managing the affairs of such a dynamic jazz ensemble, frequently suffered from insomnia. Leonard passed on Dr. Ferber's name when he overheard Armando mention his troubles. Armando contacted Dr. Ferber, who began treating his insomnia with the "latest new drug" he called H3B4. In truth, Dr. Ferber was using Armando, an unknowing victim, to test a modified version of the thaumaturgical bioweapon nicknamed "Fatback". Armando soon began showing symptoms that worried his wife, Marla Brock. Thinking that his unusual behavior warranted investigation, she hired a private investigator to look into the matter. When the investigation was complete, the private investigator had linked Armando's symptoms and prescription with the bacterial bioweapon and produced correspondence between Armando and Dr. Ferber that confirmed he had provided the drug. Lab testing has confirmed that H3B4 was an unauthorized usage of a thaumaturgical entity that should not have been tested on human subjects. Armando has been successfully treated at Seattle General to remove the effects of the drug and has been released to the care of his wife, Marla, to recover fully. This KSAF reporter wonders where Leonard will go now that his part in the unsuccessful poisoning of the band manager has nixed any chance at winning Marla's affections.

Looks like the Blue Devils are capitalizing on all the media attention. They've already signed a new bass player and have entered a "battle of the bands" competition sponsored by Horizon Music's Seattle branch in a few weeks. That's not much time to break in a new member, but Armando Brock is nothing if not ambitious. We'll have to see if his confidence is well-founded or not.
