S'okay, I think may veins may be flowing with vitriol right now, so perhaps both of our sort-of-absence is a good thing, eh?

Woah! It's Dark! Long time no...see? I guess?

Anyway, I agree with Dar, except on one thing. The last one, Sosuke, he seems substantially weaker than the other two, and also like you spent a bit less effort on him.

When you say 'background guys', do you mean like Genma, Kotetsu, and Izumo? In which case, would you only use them when people needed ANBU? Because that would be rarely. Perhaps in between, you could have one sent out on a mission at a time. :D

I'm pretty vile right now, so I'm not gonna say any more. Hello new person!
Mmm, I was running out of steam on Sosuke. I'll fix him up and post in Dossiers.

And yeah, I was thinking they'd be like those three. That way I could just hang back and drop into threads in a less important way and gain experience, then I could think about sending them off on missions.

Thank you very much!

some notes on the trio:
  • I don't think they'd be able to take KMP courses while still in the Academy.
    • They're still Academy students, so there's still a chance for passing. Doing KMP classes would interfere with taking Academy classes.
    • Even if they failed the jounin-sensei test, they'd have 2 more chances at the Academy/jounin-sensei exams and/or failing a 6-month cycle at the STC before being washed out (and becoming eligible for joining KMP Academy).
    • If they're too antisocial to be ninja, why would the KMP take them? :rollin: Though, they accepted Sasuke and Shino as ninja, so I don't see how antisocial would be a negative. And they accepted Kiba and Naruto, so clearly immature isn't a major thing either. :halo
  • I'd concur with them being ANBU division rather than Intel, though I'm unsure if they'd be in the same battalion as Tsukiko or not. Mainly because there's no specific forensics section listed explicitly. Though Tsukiko is listed as leading a forensics team in one mission thread, so MSC would likely be their battalion since she's MSC.
  • Since they're in MSC, they'd be using flat masks with painted designs, so the variation thing between Weasel and Polecat isn't an issue.
  • Who's the Team leader? We could probably say a 3-man team's okay for forensics duty in MSC, but you'd still need to designate which of the three is leader.
Other than that, they seem okay.

Question to all: Just how big is the Uchiha clan?

Okay! So I changed it. Hopefully it's better now. Still unsure of the division, I'll let you guys allow or kick the trio in or out or whatever.

@ Phht: Not sure how big the Uchiha clan is, probably about 40 or so people. And that depends on how many fangirls managed to take a turn while Sasuke was drunk leading to them being considered "wives". And how many kids they managed to have, and how many of said kids are currently shacking up with someone, or even already married.

@ weiri: Why not have them be an experiment by Hanabi for a potential new specialist branch of ANBU dealing exclusively with forensics?

I'd have to wonder if there is big enough need within the military to need a specific battalion for forensics when we have a section that handles medical stuff (plus the KMP)... unless she's considering the possibility of shifting MSC and R&D into their own division (ANBU, Intel, Medical?) in the Corps, in which case forensics might get its own battalion.

Hm.... Dangit, now I'm thinking of that Ninja Criminal Investigative Service naruto fic I saw.

Fairly small still, and even less are ninja I'd say.
Actually with Sasuke's recent, uh, 'behaviour' I'm all for a retcon to say the kids were all Itachi's XD
We have what? 3 named Uchiha in the RP?

Well, there was always that ONE plot bunny from somebody saying that the Uchiha children were sealed in a scroll or something for safe keeping.

But that'd needlessly complicate things, wouldn't it?

The time line is canon up to 479 (the chapter right before Danzo kicks the bucket). Or maybe 478, so there's no issue with Danzo having gotten stabbied at the end of 479. >.>

So if they're Itachi's kids, it have to be from before he died (unless you want to claim that he faked his death in that fight, fooling Sasuke (and Madara?)).

--

I'm pretty sure that was my plot bunny there. Or I was at least involved with it some how. The "Naruto and someone were making out in a dusty records room and accidentally knocks a scroll off that unrolls out into the hall and releases lot of Uchiha kids that were sealed by Itachi during the massacre instead of being killed" one, right?

Did we ever decide how Naruto got made Hokage? Maybe we just discovered how (might've been what caused the later... incident that brought Naruto, Sakura, and Hinata together as a single pair). :halo

"Sakura-chan, Hinata-chan, these kids are looking to me for a role model. And while I can be enough dad for all of them, it's not fair to either of you to try and take on the mom duties all by yourself."

"That's a very nice rationalization for both of us shacking up with you Naruto. Start running."

"Yes ma'am."

"W-we'll be nice and give you a five second head-start Naruto-kun."

"Which started four seconds ago."

Yeah!
  • Naruto makes out with Hinata, accidentally 'rescues' all these Uchiha kids from sealing scroll.
  • Sakura hears about the incident and goes to confront Naruto about two-timing her.
  • She finds him alone and argument starts.
  • Hinata shows up and Sakura demands he choose between them.
  • Naruto makes stupid comment wondering about why he had to choice or something similarly bad. Noticing Sakura's negative reaction, he tries to rephrase it to sound less stupid.
  • Scene from Tempest occurs.
  • Sakura and Hinata bond while chasing Naruto down to kill him for the comment, and decide that they could handle sharing him with the other.
  • Naruto gets cornered eventually, and manages to say something sappy and heartwarming while trying to avoid death-by-irate-girlfriends. The decision to share him is revealed.
  • Mood interrupted by Tsunade, who hands out punishment for Hinata and Naruto (for making out in a records room) and congratulates the three by making Sakura share in the punishment.

... jeeze, I never caught that. Thanks for pointing it out, gonna change it now.
:wut: Good news is, that typo is not on the wiki (I just checked).

--

Water signature technique... in Wind Country? I guess that could be useful if he stays along the coastline. (Though if we're getting non-Konoha players now, I should check chakra control exercises to see if all for that village are done.) Woodcarving as a hobby might be expensive in Suna, I dunno.

Sougujutsu is tool stuff. Kunai, shuriken, senbon, explosive tags, traps, etc (I think bow/crossbow also falls in here).
Melee weapons such as swords, spears, knives, sharp sticks, etc fall under Taijutsu.

As for names, most of us hit up JP name sites and look for something from them.

Well I think this is the sort of place to ask this question...

So hi, I've been lurking on this site for about...a year now and just now notice that their was an RP section in it, and more specifically an RP section that is not an abomination to God, Man, and Dolphin. So I was wondering...

If I were wanting to make a Chunin rank characters, what sort of statistics do you think would be reasonable.

I mean like a newly minted 15 year old chunin, since I think that would be amusing to play, exposing him to a world of super-powered god-modders and other such things.

First thing to ask yourself is: "Has my guy been working towards a specialization?". That helps set some guidelines for the stats you'll give him, and his skill rankings.

...and you should also think about your character's background, like if they belong to a clan, what kind of clan is it? What do they focus on?

Just what are you implying... :that_dood_is_up_to_something:

Anyway, I suggest checking the wiki for this game, the link to which can be found in Phht's sig. There should be pages for character building, ranks, and stats. But very little (if anything) is written in stone, really.

He's clearly been reading Tiger & Dragon. ;)

There's my guide to character creation that includes a general power level chart for various ranks and experience (go with the rows labeled 'elite') that could work as base guidelines. And the entire Basics menu on the wiki is for the stats. Though the Fuin/Juinjutsu entry is still depressingly empty.

But nothing's 'official' on such things. Tempest and Vael's advice is good, because getting a concept of the character can help decide where values end up.

Hey, it clearly states in my character's bio that he specializes in high-impact ninjutsu. Everyone else merely failed to say how high of an impact was too high.

Yo...umm, I hate to say this, but I'm gonna be pullin' out of the RPG from here onwards. Turns out I don't have as much free time as I thought I did. So, my apologies to everyone.
:TT_TT:
As for my character and his clan...they could stay as NPCs or go, it's really up to you guys.

Laters all, and keep on having a good time.

Considering weiri's ANBU team is in the same battalion as Tsukiko and Itsuki has a rivalry with Ayumu, it seems several people are at least acquainted with Nishiyori's students. But if Nishiyori has told anything of a personal nature to his students, they havn't shared with anyone else. As for the training, it was brutal but it made them the ninjas they are.

On a completely different note...will Aoi and Ryuusuke ever be making a comeback in the main timeline?

Sometime next year. ;)

--

Currently we're 'paused' on Aug 2, though we have a mission sitting out around Aug 9-10 outside the gates of the village. Given that the updated bios for Aoi and Ryuusuke are +6 months from the Sodegaura mission IIRC, that'd place them reappearing around Jan-Feb.

I mentally consider T&D to be around 1/3-season for "S1". I'm planning for some promotion Exam (Genin characters, etc) stuffs set Oct-Nov that could serve as 2/3-season point, then wrap up S1 in Dec-Feb (which would make S1 24 missions/events long). So Aoi and Ryuusuke will reappear either end of S1 or beginning of S2.

In my head, at least. :relief:

--

I almost think we need a mission to go find the Ruins team. Though they've only been on the mission 12 days at the point T&D is paused, so no one probably thinks they're overdue yet. :ouch___it_hurts:
