*sitting outside the gate, going over several documents* It's been almost a year, huh... longer since heading to the dig site.

Higure leans against the wall next to the gate with his travel gear. "What's so interesting about this dig site besides its location?"

[Is this same day as we got back from the previous mission, or some point after?]

(Don't ask me; I'm not good with this timeline stuff.)

Heheheh. That's something you'll have to see for yourself; most Konoha nin don't travel into the Wastelands, aside from certain things like civil wars, so this may be a once in a life time deal.

Rika walks into view with a black backpack over one shoulder, seeing that not everyone is there he takes his time getting to the gates.

"So, I don't think I asked your name when I agreed to this mission."

Not so Dynamic Entry

After the team gave his name, a young man obviously deep into the manga he was reading at the came sauntering towards them. His chuunin uniform upgraded with a sing strap bag colored like his chuunin jacket.

....NOO! Saya what have you done! Clothing Scroll, check. Sweet! Dude's getting his ass kicked! Food Scroll check. Wait...was that the Grand Final Flash from Volume 3, Chap 19, pg 8? Medical Scroll check....

And that's how Kai's mind works when manga is involved. Looking up the moment as he sensed his former adventures, he simple waved.

"Yo!"

He quickly returned to his manga-reading vice, his grin growing as he as he opened the graphic novel.

To an archeological site a bit of a ways into the country past Mountain country. We'll be making a few stops along the way so we don't burn ourselves out.

"Mountain country, haven't been there in a while, sounds like fun."

Same here; we'll only be making one stop there, and the place is pretty close to the border.

But, since Yukarin showed up, let's get this show on the road! *stands up and starts heading way from the village*

Movin'

Another twitch from the manga addict in question of his newest nickname, he simply sighed and nodded, following them outside the gates and beyond.

Dammit Saya you useless chick, tell him you love him already!! Things were really heating up in his manga.

Yuuhi follows the group on out. "I hope we don't run into anything otherworldly on this mission. Demons, necromancers... If I end up going 3 for 3 with consecutive missions involving that crap, I might have to retire. ... Or go on a homicidal demolitions spree in rage. Most likely just get drunk and complain about it though. Buying demolition tags is damn expensive in bulk compared to buying enough booze to get drunk."

Well, any of you guys fought a puppet user before?

Well...

His nose still in the manga, he simply looked up with the famous Yukari Predatory Grin.

"They're kinda fun to fight," his voice was actually a little gleeful. "Especially the ones that can control more than three puppets, any less and it isn't a challenge for me." He shrugged, going back to his manga, "Due to the high chakra control and focus needed for their style of fighting, they usually are surprisingly good genjutsu users. While the puppets are deadly, they are also a distraction, even disassembling it wouldn't stop the real pros."

"A couple of times, generally the puppet ends up in tiny pieces before much can happen."

And what do you do if there is no puppet master?

"Look harder," Higure deadpanned.

[I'd say it's a day or two later, so we have time to shower, do laundry, resupply, etc. ;) ]

Dear dear, you Elemental Country nin really don't know about anything outside your little circle, huh?

Oh well; in time you'll learn... or you'll die, either way I guess~.

Hmm...

Taking a good long look at Shiki after one of the longer conversations they had since starting, he wondered.

"I have some-" untested "-measures against that, but what about you? Sounds like you've faced one before..."

But of course; My line of work involves fighting lots of varied opponents. Puppet users, Doll Users, Karakuri. There's a lotta different things you find when your whole life's been moving from place to place, you know?

Understanding?

His gaze became curious, and a little happy, "Yeah, I can relate..." He sighed, "After my clan left Iron Country, we wandered around for a bit before coming to Konoha." Of course he was seriously young at the time, but the understanding was still there anyways. "Us Yukari might like our freedom, but frankly, we would much rather serve something greater than just ourselves." Yawning a little and stretching a little, he wondered, "Why the question though? Expecting Puppeteers to show up and ruin our fun?"

If one of them was a Missing Nin...oh boy... A certain Yukari would be getting a bonus on his ANBU paycheck.
