AU: Return to Sodegaura

Names are provided, and as things wind down watch duty is assigned for the night.

oog: meh...just assume Rika gave us a name so we can move on. If someone wanted to do some character development, etc. at this point they would have by now, right?

The night passes without event, except distinct discomfort on everyone's part.

Aoi sits propped against a tree, battling her tangled hair with limited success.

Daisuke and Sosuke are quietly sitting, checking over gear and otherwise preparing for the day.

Kisuke walks over and squats by Aoi, a brush is hand. "A valiant effort, Medic-chan. Mind if I throw my brush into the battle?"

Aoi looks over at Kisuke and smiles brightly. "Aid would be greatly appreciated, good sir."

[Tempest Kitsune]

Itsuki has been keeping himself occupied with tending the cookfire, muttering to himself about how he's not a chef under his breath.

(OOG: When are we going to be slipping into our Yakuza guises fully? I assume we would have been told something when the plan was being laid out.)

Nishiyori finishes up his morning excercise routine and then washes up before rejoining the others. He raises a curious brow at the scene but says nothing for a moment until he leans against a tree.

"Just remember for later that a yakuza wouldn't make that sort of offer. She's your little (foster) sister so you look out for her, but you're still a man. It's sexist I know, but that's how it is." he shrugs.


oog: well, assuming they have access to some means of cleaning their suits (jutsu or otherwise) then today might be best, get used to them and break them in.

Rika is reading a book under a tree, he's already in his yakuza suit.

Itsuki has his jacket hanging off a branch along with his shirt, in order to keep either from getting singed by the fire, and to keep the smell of smoke that would get in them to a minimum.

Between the Uchiha's and Aoi's efforts, her hair is finally tangle-free.

"Thank you, Kyo-san, right?"

"No problem Chie-chan. You should braid it before going to bed. Can you french braid?"

"Not on myself, no."

Kisuke sighs, "Turn your back towards me, I'll do it. It should stay for a while."

[ewuvi]

Aoi turns and allows Kisuke to braid her hair.

"So, we change into uniform today, boss?"

"Mmhm." he indicates a yes. "Use this time to get used to them a bit. Anyway, we're moving out within the hour, so be ready."

[Tempest Kitsune]

"Grub's ready." Itsuki pulls out a pan of oatmeal that he'd been stirring, seasoned with a bit of cinnamon and a handful of raisins from his small stash of energy food. "It ain't much, but if you wanted five-star dining you'd have been better off with an Akimichi on your team."

After a couple of seconds Rika bookmarks his page and puts the book away to get some food.

"Thank you Itsuki."

[Tempest Kitsune]

Itsuki shrugs as he unseals a small stack of metal bowls and spoons. "Eh, no problem."

Nishiyori will eat breakfast and then change into his suit. The time he gave should be enough for everyone to be ready when it's time to go.

Kisuke finishes braiding Aoi's hair and goes off to change. Sosuke and Daisuke had finished changing by the time Kisuke was done braiding Aoi's hair.

Daisuke switches his ski goggles out for sunglasses that completely obscure his eyes, and doesn't gel his hair. Kisuke wears his normal black-rimmed glasses since he won't be using his sharingan.

With her hair finished, Aoi packs up her brush and frolics off to a private area to change. She emerges wearing the suit and blushing slightly.

"I feel absolutely ridiculous," she mutters.

Itsuki slides on his shades after buttoning up the last button on his suit jacket, just as the sun breaks through the morning cloud cover. "Personally, tatoos aside, I think we make this look good."

"It makes me look short in a not-cute way," Aoi laments, "I'll have to death glare everyone so they won't think I'm just playing dress up!"

(since this is pre-timeskip Aoi, she's only 5'0")

Kisuke laughs, "You'll be a fun-sized deliverer of pain, Chie-chan."

Daisuke smiles slightly, and adds "You're most definitely the fiercest of us all."

Sosuke rolls his eyes.

"Gramps always says that short women are the most dangerous," Itsuki nods sagely.

"Yeah," Aoi looks at the men oddly, "so. We should head out soon, yes?"
