Team TYPI: The First Week

Toshizo looks at Miyu quizzically. "Chrysanthemums?"

"There were many repercussions from that time with the flowers," Miyu answers, an explanation that explains nothing at all.

"Long story involving two of our classmates some Chrysanthemums, a lizard and some honey. Don't ask. For the record the answer is no Miyu-san I am not still afraid of them."

"Wow. I thought Taru and I got up to some crazy hijinks as Academy students, but I guess not." Toshizo ponders a bit before throwing out a question. "Why Kenjutsu?"

"Why Kenjutsu? Because swords are Awesome." Tatsumaru says in a slightly shocked tone.
Why am I the only one who gets this? he wonders to himself

"Why Hair whips?" he asks Toshizo.

[Aldraia Dragonsong]

Miyu raises one eyebrow at Tatsumaru's explanation.
"As much as you change, Tatsumaru-san, you also stay so much the same," she observes.

"Hey, I thought we were asking you questions." Toshizo teased. "To answer, it was a clan technique that played well to my role as a mid range attacker and disabling an opponent without killing them."

Taru snorts and grins at Toshizo, before adding his two cents.

"And it makes him feel pretty."

Tatsumaru gives a smile of his own
"Ah yes the vaunted Yamanaka vanity. I know it well." he says dryly

"Hey, you're just jealous you couldn't pull this off without split ends." Toshizo jokes as he runs his hand through his ponytail.

On the inside, however, he was quite angry. Yamanaka were very proud of their appearance, and it was a touchy subject. When a friend could tease about your looks without fear of reproach, it was considered the sign of a very close relationship. Taru could get away with that, but certainly not this Tatsumaru. He wasn't really off to a great start to begin with, and with this...he'd have to wait and see.

"Sensei made it very clear I was utterly hopeless at looking good without assistance. So I'll give you that. Still you're actually pretty good with those whips. Ever thought about getting real ones made?"

"No, not particularly. The extra weight would be annoying for longer missions, and they don't really offer any substantial benefit over my hair."

"If you say so. I think the convenience would out weight the drawbacks but to each their own."
Tatsumaru falls silent for a moment

"Any other questions people? I like to be open with my team."

"Nope." Toshizo says curtly.

Taru flinches internally when he hears Toshizo's tone.

Hoo boy. I'll have to apologize later. And get him some pocky. Yeah thats a good idea.

Taru wipes the slightly dreamy expression off his face, nods to himself, and returns his attention to the present.

"I'm good for now."

[Aldraia Dragonsong]

"I have no further questions," Miyu says calmly.

Tatsumaru raises an eyebrow to Toshizo
Touchy...I know Yamanaka pride themselves on their looks but I've heard Sensei make that joke. And she takes her looks as seriously as anyone I know...tch.

Tatsumaru nods.
"Alright Then we're done for the day. Seeing as how team training with one of our members down is counterproductive. I'm going to train some more. If anyone wants to join me I'll be happy to work with them. Tomorrow I want us all to start working on our weaknesses. Alright?"

Taru checks the time, thinking to himself.

Alright, that took about 15 minutes, so not like Im behind schedule or anything. And I was planning on running Taijutsu and Ninjutsu training today anyway...

Taru shrugs his quiver off his shoulder and sets it on the ground.

"I'll take you up on that. Was my taijutsu day anyway. Wanna meet for lunch later Toshi?"

He quirks an eyebrow questioningly at his friend. Hopefully he will get a chance to apologize then.

"Sounds good. Were you thinking noodles?"

Taru smiles a bit.

"Noodles sounds great. Meet you at the usual place then?"

"Sure. I'll go home and do some studying, then meet you there." With that, Toshizo stands up a tad stiffly, and walks home.

Miyu considers Tatsumaru's offer carefully. On the one hand... but on the other...
She reaches a decision.
"My greatest weakness is my poor taijutsu skill," she admits. "I see no negative consequence to beginning efforts at improvement today instead of tomorrow. I will join you, if that is acceptable."
It is not as though she had any plans for the day.

Tatsumaru smiles at that.
"Alright we'll start with some basic sparring."

Hmm I need to talk to Toshizo after training's over. He said he wasn't pissed about the lightning thing... Tatsumaru pushes the thought to the side as he settles himself into a taijutsu stance.

"Alright who want's to go first?"

[Aldraia Dragonsong]

"If Taru-san does not object," Miyu says with a glance at Taru, "I will do so."

Taru picks up his quiver and moves to the side a bit, before folding his legs beneath him and sitting on the ground.

"Go ahead. I can keep myself busy till its my turn."

As Taru settles back to watch, he lays his hands on his lap, palms up and begins to concentrate. After a few minutes, a small bolt of brilliant rose colored energy begins to form in his palms. Its edges are extremely indistinct and its shape wavers badly , and an almost inaudible chiming noise fills the air immediately around him. As time passes, beads of sweat begin to form on his head and the shape dissipates, forcing him to start over each time it does so.

Focusing this little of this chakra into a shape is really difficult. Makes for a good chakra control exercise though.
