There are several plot threads in chapter 42 that may well see progress:Thoughts on what may happen?
- Lupin is starting to learn Occlumency. Depending on how long it takes him, he might find out about the future, although they really need a Legilimens to test him first, and I don't think Sirius is trained in that.
- Barrister pushing for an inquiry into Sirius' case. Sirius might get an offer of a trial if he hands himself in. Then there's the question of "do we trust the Ministry to follow through, after what happened when Peter was captured?" But it would be nice to see him get a chance.
- Moody is running group training exercises. A close-up on some of those could be great fun. I loved the mock battles in Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality.
- We get to see the school - and the Gryffindor Six in particular - reacting to Harry's selection as Champion. Obviously it should be much more positive than the first time, since there is no shadow of cheating hanging over him, but it should be interesting to read. Especially if he still tries to persuade people that he didn't put his name in, and the Six of course know that it's true.
