Jutsu in Team 8 after watching Darker than Black

I'm just curious, but I keep running across parallels and had to ask if Viridian was a Darker Than Black fan.

In particular, the ice-using kidnapper and the mention of using a chain to electrocute someone mentioned in one Kurenai's stories

Not having seen Darker than Black, I couldn't say what the Authorlord may or may not be cribbing from alternate sources, but electrocuting someone with a chain seems like it wouldn't be that big a streach. I mean, great conductor closing the distance and frying someone?
No comment on anyone using ice, that just seems like the easiest way to make water solid.

I'm mostly thinking of the ice guy from the kidnappers...he used ice powers with a slightly non-standard flavor...instead of the iceman thing, he was freezing the ground up to the feet and making weapons to fight with....it reminded me a lot of November 11's use of his powers

I will admit that I haven't seen Darker than Black, but I did a little looking on Wikipedia. According to Wikipedia:

It premiered across Japan from April 5, 2007 on MBS, TBS, and its affiliated broadcast stations, with its satellite television premiere in Japan on Animax in May 2007.

Given that the chapters you seem to be referring to were posted on Fanfic Authors in June and July of 2006 (according to FFA), well it seems the creators used Team 8 as their inspiration.

Not that they will ever admit that, of course.
