To make matters worse for me.... I had originally thought that the pain in her stomach was due to her seal activating it or something... I didn't put together the clues right...

I on the other hand thought that something bad was about to happen to Asuka, the bijuu took pre-emptive action and flash-fried the guy.

That's pretty much what I meant, Nit...

I thought she flash-fried the guy due to emotional extremes before the act could truly begin (without any conscious initiation of the attack by the Bijuu).

We all did dude.

I didn't think anything happened before I saw this thread, I was of the thought that while things were turning really ugly she flash-fried the guy before things could get that far. I also thought that her stomach hurting was a result of over-use of her biji and chakra, she's young and under extreme duress, so she pulled more then she could have handled then and there.

Also, in some cases, a close call may be more traumatizing than actually being put through it.

But that's just me.
