All right Serbii has managed to con me/ guilt me into starting up a Viridian Dreams Forums Recommendation for Harry Potter instead of Naruto. So the rules are the same as the Naruto version. Submit a story with your ff.net name. If two other people second the recommendation it gets added.

A Black Comedy (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3401052/1/A_Black_Comedy) is excellent humor.

30 Minutes that changed everything (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5178251/1/3 ... Everything) and it's sequal Gathering Storm (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5480014/1/3 ... ring_Storm) are both excellent reads IMO.

The Inner Eye of Harry Potter (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4966520/1/T ... rry_Potter) is an excellent "what if" fic, with plenty of humor and some decent storytelling.

Dark Defense (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5283776/1/Dark_Defense) is an AWESOME Devil May Cry/HP crossover, featuring Vergil as the DADA Teacher for Fifth Year.

Harry Potter and the Invincible Technomage (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3933832/1/H ... TechnoMage) is an excellent HP/Marvel crossover. Harry is raised by Tony Stark. Need I say more?

Uncrowned Lord of Azkaban (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5439193/1/U ... of_Azkaban) is a funny look at what might have happened if people hadn't believed that Harry destroying Quirrel was self-defense.

The Thief of Hogwarts (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5199602/1/T ... f_Hogwarts) is an excellent comedy, where Harry goes a bit grey long before learning about magic.

Harry Potter and the Distaff Side (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3894793/1/H ... staff_Side) is an interesting look into a twisted funhouse mirror, when Voldemort knows the Prophecy and so casts Harry into another world to ensure his immortalitly. A world where genders, and indeed, gender roles themselves, are swapped.

Chosen Tricksters (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4844792/1/Chosen_Tricksters) is an AU comedy where the Maruaders ended up each being sponsored by certain spirits and gods. Verry funny, especially since Coyote was Sirius' sponsor, and Hermes was Remus'.

Sure, its fine that the non ffn.net links won't have a chance to make the list. People read the thread too so I figured I'd include those as well for someone browsing this topic.

I'll second '30 Minutes That Changed Everything'. Although I thought it was starting to seem a bit tedious towards the end or maybe I just lost interest. I haven't looked at the sequel yet.

Time Traveling smartass Harry story, very funny even though I still don't get the whole time travel explanation and keep thinking Samantha Carter would be going 'It doesn't work that way!' hahaha. I'll second (or nth, as the case may be) Black Comedy, 30 Minutes and the sequel, Inner Eye, Invincible Technomage, Distaff Side and Chosen Tricksters.

- AU from year 5 on. Told looking back, in part using journal entries and letters, and manages to do a good job with this style.

- AU 5th year, from the perspective of said transfer student, who is from a very foreign culture. The bashing level is a bit high for my tastes, especially of Hermione and Ron, although a good part of that is that the story is very much from the student's point of view. Definitely not for everyone, but I enjoyed it.

Seconding bungle in the jungle.

I'll add http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4111707/1/Cub A story involving Haryy running away from the Dursleys, he joins up with some street urchins, or whatever they're called, and lives with them for two years, until the police find them and put them in an orphanage, one not to far away from everyone's favourite werewolf. FOcuses mainly on humou but the plot is still handled really well and none of the OC's are even near sue level, hell only two actually play a direct part in the story.

To the best of my knowledge I'm not subscribed to any communities even though I follow both this and the Naruto thread. For me, the community doesn't matter quite as much as the thread since I can read and actually see people's opinions on it.
