It's a great "Ultimate Universe" disguised as a "for want a nail" story, with many interesting changes like Jinx being a member of the Titans in place of Raven

Perhaps not from the traditional superhero sources, I'd like to recommend War and Peace In Mind. It's set in the Sky High universe, a Disney movie from a few years back. Don't let the fact that it's got a Disney source put you off, it's well written, has a good plot, and best of all, it's complete! If you haven't seen the movie, one you should give it a shot, it's really not a bad flick (not high cinema, but a good way to waste an hour and a half), and two you don't have to have seen it to understand the story. Granted, it helps immensely, but the story covers the events of the movie from Warren's viewpoint.

Now, I may be a bit biased, because I did end up as a beta for the story, but it really is a good example of superhero fanfiction, and one that doesn't focus on the usual DC or Marvel universes.

I also nominate Magic Lies by spankingfemfatale , it's set after the Hulk vs Thor movie, but concentrates only on the Asgardians. The premise is that Amora returns to Asgard after the conclusion of the movie and is made to pay for her and Loki's misdeeds

I will second war and peace in mind. I almost didn't read it just because I wasn't very familiar with the universe (I saw sky high once, but it was years ago). This is definitely worth a look though.
