Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
(Please ignore the next lines of wailing from the frustrated fanboy) WHY?!!! WHY I CAN'T AFFORD A F$#KING PS3?!!! WHY?!!! Damn you economy!! Damn you recession!! Damn you monthly insufficient income!! Damn you college financial aid payments!! Damn you capitalism!! Damn you to hell!! Oh! Well... Megaman 10 is very neat anyway (though Megaman 9 was better in my opinion). Hopefully, I may manage to at least get No more heroes 2 next month.

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
He didn't exactly apply himself in school (not that I can say much either) and so didn't get a good enough GPA to get housing from the college he wanted to go to. Add onto that the fact that the job market is shot in Ohio (and pretty much country-wide), and he figured that was his best option. I just wish he'd decided to join a branch that does their fighting from a distance like the Air Force.

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
Since the beginning of the war, as of this post there have been 4,382 US military facilities in Operation Iraqi Freedom and 1,020 in Operation Enduring Freedom. This counts helicopter crashes, vehicle crashes, and accidental deaths as well as combat casualties.
Counting both active duty, reserve, and the National Guard, there are approximately 1.1 million people serving in the US Army at present.
So while there is always a risk, its not exactly a guaranteed death sentence. Pray for him, but don't mourn him until and unless. I wish him the best of luck.

Here's hoping he ends up a Supply Officer. Might not be the most glamorous job, but it has real-world skills and a safe place in the back.

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
Would he be deployed inmediately if he is not assigned to the reserves? How does it works exactly?

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
If he ends up going to the big sandbox within a year of enlistment, I'll be very surprised. Between basic, AIT, and pre-deployment training, he'll likely spend his first 12 months or so in the Army stateside, and that's assuming his first deployment will be to Iraq or Afghanistan at all. (Its entirely possible they'll send him somewhere else in the world to free up someone more experienced to go back to the big sandbox.)

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
My Mum and I would kill my brother if he ever signed up, fortunately he doesn't have the personality for it, too much of a snob Here's hoping your brother doesn't get into any trouble, Tempy. RE: FF. God Snow is annoying, I should have put him in mafia as an independent everyone wants to kill, everyone else I at least vaguely like, well Hope needs more development, but in the trailer he blasts Snow off a balcony so he gets points for that, plus it's really obvious he's going to get character development. There are some mighty familiar accents in it XD

I'm sorry to hear that, Tempest. Not sure if you go for this sort of thing, but I'll pray for him.
Anti: how is the game so far? I'm still trying to get some free time to play Bioshock 2

Well, given what Chuckg said, I expect that everything will turn out well for him.
Good luck!

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
Yeaaaaaah. Heart Gold and Soul silver are out and I'm gonna get a cyndaquil and name it Smoot and it will be awesome. HOLY CRAP MY DAD JUST WALKED IN WITH A GIANT iMAC! And it's replacing this PC... And he want's me to set is up. God Damn it I don't know how to use a Mac yet alone set one up! ;_; aww man, I'm going to have a mac for my internet PC. Chrome better work on them >_> Crap will I have to do anything to my iphone? Bright side: We have a new computer (but it's a mac ;_;) This PC will be completely wiped to try to clean out some of the bugs and will become the PC in my room. This one does not sound like a helicopter taking off and has better specs. I suspect this is not a normal problem

O.k.
Just to be fair both Macs AND Pcs suck. It's just that Macs suck at what I want to do and Pcs suck at things I don't need.

Hahahaha! Now that's some irony right there... It'll make things so much more interesting when the final act is about to begin. So much fun.
... carry on, just dropping vague hints nobody cares about again.

Actually, I really though you were talking about computers and OS there.

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
Moving right along. It occurs to me that we have the following quests ninja , magical girl, Fate/Stay Night, Knight, Vendetta, Black Void, and the Parasite quest. So I was wondering if anyone was willing to do a Wizards quest. We have the Naruto fandom represented but nothing for HP. If no one picks it up that's fine just throwing it out there.

Oooh! I is setting up a Mage quest. Not HP, but still Mage Quest.
Which reminds me: Do ya'll want White and Black morality, Grey and Grey morality, or Grey and Black morality for the game?

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
Can't we have White, Gray, Black morality? You know like in real life? And no I don't think real life is gray and gray. We have the full gamut of idiots.

Re: Random thoughts (and mindless babble)
Okay, I'll do my best.
Although people will probably end up being all shades of gray, because I don't think anyone is truly perfectly good or evil, and I'd have a very hard time trying to make someone perfectly good or evil.
Mmmmkay, I'll modify the plans to allow for saintly/normal/bad!
