I'll just point to the fact that Disney bought the rights to the Gargoyles animated series and in just one season ruined it almost completely. The story arc that culminated in the fight with Oberon was just epic on so many levels, and then Disney took it over and the quality dropped hard.

The news sucks. Now Marvel movies will have to deal with the same BS that DC movies have when trying to get made.

Well DC is owned by Warner Bros and and potential DC property made into a movie have to be through WB's studio. They've been notorious for their inablity to get superhero projects off the ground (see the many failed attempts at a Wonder Woman movie) and lots of executive meddling. These are also the same people that thought the Catwoman movie was a good idea.


Marvel had their own studio, filled with execs who got superheroes and who had faith in a superhero who had never had movie before (Iron Man). They believed that he could exceed because the person running the studio knew superheroes. They were willing to try untested superheroes out. Furthermore, Marvel not only had their own studio, but since they owned their own properties still, could shop around other studios to make their movies.

Now well... that's all gone. They basically have the same problems DC has.

Well, supposedly, Disney is going to respect the current agreements that Marvel has with other companies regarding their properties. And "supposedly", they are not going to interfere with the internal working of the company. So, at least the projects Marvel and companies like Sony or Fox currently have in production (like those related to Spiderman, Ironman and the X-men characters) are not going to be affected by the take-over.

Any future projects on the other hand...

That was one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. As for the anime, I gave up after watching the trailer for Wolverine. I saw some of the anime is available to stream on netflix but I couldn't find the courage to try to watch it. Has anyone watched any of them?

Keep in mind that Disney is the primary for Hyao Miyazaki's stuff in the US though one of its' subsidiaries, 'nuff said. Disney can do good and mature stuff. Gargoyles got ruined due to some meddling from (TROPE WARNING!) some unnames sources (Trope being only one of them).

Disney can do some good stuff and a massive Marvel fan who I work with was not displeased by this.
