I'm going to be running cash bets with every gamer I know in meat-space as to whether Valve include a "Cake" reference in Portal 2. Regular game or Easter-egg, either counts.

People who realize that the bet is close to a 50-50 split:

On the one hand, people who know that Valve have quite the troll-streak, and back-referencing "cake", even if the reference is hidden away, is a possibility.

On the other hand, people who know that Valve are smart enough to know not to use a stale reference that has done it's rounds on the internet and has been spammed to hell and back.

My money is on option a), but it has more to do with me being quite partial to trolling. XD

Anyone who purposefully sets out to "make" a meme is no longer "making" one but "forcing" one. Most video-game memes thus far had NOTHING to do with the companies behind them, since it was not the companies who helped the memetic process move forwards.

There is no credit to be given for true memes. And there is nothing but contempt for forced memes.
