Viridian Health Update 2025

I’m starting a new drug that is giving some good effects and helping with endocrine issues. The human brain is a funny thing. I don’t know if starting the new med, reducing some other meds, or cosmic rays are to blame, but my muse is in rare form the last few months.

Writing is fun again and the words are flying. If this is temporary, I will enjoy it while it lasts! I appreciate everyone’s support as I’m getting back into the groove again!

  1. Good to hear from you Authorlord… I just finished my umpteenth reread of NoFP. Sending power to your muse. This time around I have a question: after the Gryffindor Six slay the basilisk, they are called into Dumbledore’s office to account for themselves. However, it doesn’t seem to me that Harry offers Dumbledore any explanation during this scene for how he knew about the Chamber’s existence in the first place. Can you help me fill the gap here, or else point to what I missed in the story?

Hooray for having fun! When all is said and done, that’s the point of writing stories, isn’t it?

Also hooray for finding effective medications. It’s a never-ending work in progress for my wife to manage her medications for a collection of chronic issues. (Had some good success recently with prescription cannabis oils for pain relief.)

  3. I stopped reading HPFF years ago but I still check your site every few months to see how you’re doing and if there’s maybe a new chapter out of my absolute favourite fan fiction.

Hope you’re doing well and the new drug helps!

  5. Excellent news to hear; both on health improvements, and finally some amazing news regarding story updates! I visit from time to time, hopeful for an update exactly like this! 🎉

As others have pointed out, it’s been more than a decade of excitement following NOFP. Time flies fast!

I’ve lost count of the re-reads, especially ever since the demise of FFN. It will be amazing to hear that we might get a new chapter now!

  6. It’s so good to hear you’re feeling better! I look forward to seeing what you write again. Team 8 and NoFP have fond memories for me. I’ll have to re-read them if they get new chapters.

  7. After one million minutes, the AuthorLord has returned. When fanfic needed him most… he vanished, but is now back and ready to write. Good on you! I loved the chapters of NoFP we got, and am excited to see where you take this surge of creativity, however long it may last. (Fun fact! There’s this YouTuber named Alex Bale who made an entire series about his muse, except the muse was a tentacle monster who lived in his basement and demanded animal sacrifice. I hope that’s not what yours is!) :>

  8. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of fan fiction and ran into this story occasionally. I was intrigued by the short descriptions and tried to find the full text. My native language is Russian and I was disappointed that the only translation available contained only four chapters. Although my English is good, it wasn’t a big problem for me, but I believe there are many people who cannot enjoy this great story due to the language barrier. Therefore, I wondered if I could obtain permission to translate and publish it on a Russian-language fan fiction website?

  10. Olá, sou uma nova leitora brasileira. Desculpe, mas não sei falar em inglês e uso o tradutor do Google para conseguir acompanhar sua história. Estou completamente apaixonada por Time 8. Sua forma de escrita me faz visualizar perfeitamente as coisas, e ja me peguei rindo, chorando e dando aquelas risadinhas adolescentes constrangedoras enquanto lia (e eu tenho 29 anos!)
Espero que esteja melhor de saúde, e que sua musa consiga te incentivar a retornar com as histórias!
    Aguardo ansiosamente por atualizações.
    Atenciosamente,
    Lyra, sua leitora brasileira!

  11. Your fan is from Russia! ❤️ We don’t have very developed institutes of wrappers here, so reading NOFP was like a breath of fresh air! 💕 Get well soon!

  12. I had never read any of your work before this week, but I deep dived and love it all that I have read. And I hope that since you are starting to feel better, your muse will help you with writing again.
But, even if you can’t write more. I want you to know that I very much enjoyed everything I have read and that I hope you feel better either way.
    Thank you! <3

  13. A little over 10 years ago, as I was searching and reading cool fanfics, I found this amazing NoFP fanfic and started reading it with gusto. Then, after several mentions of Team 8 in the Author’s notes I started reading that one too, and was simply enthralled by it.

Turns out that one was still a work in progress at the time, and after 2 or 3 weeks I caught up with the story in fanfiction.net. (I seem to remember it was up to chapter 19 or something like that.)

Then a lot of things happened in my life, and I kinda lost track of it all. But from time to time I very fondly remembered the fanfics (specially Team 8).

Just recently, when ordering some old files I came up with some bookmarks related to the fics. And I said “why not? I should look for them and give them a re-read and figured out how they finally finished”. (I couldn’t help it; I started with Team 8.)

As I was going through the chapters, I got curious and started looking for VidirianDreams.net, and that’s when I first knew about Matthew’s health issues. Which was heartbreaking. Totally understandable, but dissapointing none the less.

Tonight I finally finished reading Team 8 up to the last published chapter. And while a part of me is dissapointed there have not been any updates fopr it in over 10 years, I’m very glad the last chapter was a sort of bookend satisfying enough to stir the fires of my youth (even though I’m not as youthfull as I was in the beggining anymore).

So my sole consolation is the fact that I still have the entire NoFP to re-read now, and the encouraging news in this blog post, published just a handful of months ago. (I waited for over 10 years already. What difference does it make to wait 10 more for the promised conclusions?

So yeah… I wish you a fast (and long overdue) recovery and want to let you know that your stories touched some people so much that we still have a little piece of our hearts reserved for them after all this time.

  15. I have read and followed your stories since 2007. It has been some time since I last checked out NOFP and happened upon this website after checking out your FFN profile. I used to follow over on FanFicAuthors.
Anyway, I just read about your health issues and I am curious if you have given thought to natural products alongside the prescribed meds?
I take a daily supplement full of high phenolic EVOO and since then, I have began to experience life again like I was a teenager.
I was involved in a motorcycle accident back in 1988 and it greatly impacted my life. Type 1 Diabetes almost instantly and three ruptured discs in my lower back were the beginning of my problems.
If you want some information and/or some medical research on what I am taking, contact me at

I look forward to talking with you in the future and perhaps, we can get that health and energy level back up to where you can have fun writing again.
