  1. It is a good thing I didn’t see this before I left work. Every delay would have grated on me. Instead I got home, turned on the computer, checked the updates, and there it was. For all the tearing up I did, this is a lovely chapter. I might tear up more when I’m not gulping the story down. Thanks for making me cry. I mean that in a good way.

  2. Good update! Well worth the wait. One problem, doesn’t seem to be updating on fanficauthors.net. Anyway, I’m looking forward to the next chapter.

  3. Good chapter other then that all I can say is… gods damn that took awhile. Hopefully the next chapter won’t take nearly as long.

  4. It was a great surprise to wake up to this!

this year the story completed 5years of age, which is pretty cool, its chapter have accompained me through college =)

awesome chapter, and I loved the somber mood it had as it meshes perfectly with the situation and Kurenai’s death

  5. I haven’t left a comment here before, mainly because someone else has pretty much stated all I wanted to and far more eloquently than I could ever dream…but I seem to be ahead of the game on this one, so I’ll try my best to do them justice.

I wasn’t around when Team 8 started, but one of my friends got me hooked about the time chapter 19 was new, and I’ve been reading and re-reading all of your work since. (I sometimes feel that I like Nightmares of Futures Past better than the actual books, at least from the fifth one on)

This latest update has only made it more clear than ever what I think of your work: it’s beautiful. You manage to capture emotions and reactions and put them to paper (in a manner of speaking) in such an awe-inspiring way that I actually laugh out loud at some moments, and cry my eyes out in others (such as this one).

I guess for a TLDR summary: Keep up the amazing work, because there’s not enough authors as inspiring as you in a time when I think we need them the most.

  6. I’ve got to say I was mortified to see Kurenai get killed but this recent chapter was really good and I’m really looking forwards to the next. Just hope it doesnt take too long to do.

  7. You are an amazing writer. The way that you can bring forth the emotions of your readers with a simple sentence is absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to see how the plot develops now that Kurenai-sensei is… gone. She will be sorely missed
May your muse continue forever to whisper beautiful and fluent inspirations to your soul.

  8. I must have MORE! Auuughasdfhasdfljkhsdflf -head meet wall-

-put a bandaid on head wound- Your writing is awesome, and this is one of the best works of storytelling I’ve read in a while, I just can’t stop reading it again and again!

… never thought I would say that about a Naruto Fanfiction…

  9. I just started reading, yet i’m at chapter 5. It’s been a while since I read that much in one afternoon (Well, an english text at least).

While I do think it’s awesome (The way you flesh out the characters, the way you figure out the consequences of Kurenai’s choices, so on), i still have one negative thing: some japanese expressions seem out of place.

Of course, when you speak of Shinobi, kunai, etc, it’s obvious that there’s no other way. Yet all the “Gomen, arigatou” and so on just seems odd to me. Now I usually shrug it off, yet one piece of dialogue made me wonder:

Hinata saying “Gomen?” to ask something she didn’t understand, like you would say “Sorry?” or “Pardon?” in english, seems odd. Though I don’t speak japanese, i’m almost sure the word “Gomen/Gomenasai” is only used when you apologise. Just watch out for that kind of mistakes.

That’s the only downside I could think of. I’m only at chapter 5, and I didn’t really checked the rest, so maybe you already figured it out yourself. If it’s the case, sorry for speaking uselessly ^^

Anyway, I guess I’ll read till chapter 21, then wait for chapter 22. Your take on Naruto is actually more interesting than the original manga (ok, that’s MY opinion, of course I may be wrong. Dont crucify me for that :p)

  10. You made me sob. SOB. I hate you, and love you. Thank you for the amazing chapter. Thank you for the update to a wonderful story. I’ll miss Kurenai so much, but look forward to where this will take Team 8. May your muse continue to inspire, even if it wrenches every string in my heart.

Best wishes for all your professional endeavors, too. I’d like to see you on Amazon.com some day, and I’ll be right there pre-ordering whatever you put out.

  12. I am not one who normally comments on forums, but this story pretty much forced me to do so. I am in the process of reading it in full for the sixth time in approximately two months because I love the story even knowing how it goes. It includes two of my favorite characters from the anime and puts them in a position where they’re actually utilized rather than just for comic relief, and the writing and content always draws me in. I am very sorry that I have to wait for the next chapter, because I could easily read dozens more chapters like these without complaint.
