NOFP chapters are posted to RoyalRoad

Hi folks! This is Lindsey (runsamok), posting an update. I realized that updates have been few and far between here and on the FaceBook group. Sorry about that!

We managed to avoid getting Covid. Matthew is still bedbound and has been since 2015. I’m working remotely from home and caring for him. He’s going through some physical therapy to treat ankle inversion. It has been a journey to find medical providers that offer in-home visits.

Writing has been on pause for some time now, so no updates to provide there. FanFiction dot net never responded to repeated appeals to bring back NOFP. So, I’ve posted the chapters here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/32542/harry-potter-and-the-nightmares-of-futures-past

  1. Thanks for the update. I Wish you the best. I read the Harry Potter story at least once a year. I absolutely love it. Thanks for the joy you have brought me.

  2. Honest question for you guys: Why don’t you use Ao3 as a place to upload NOFP? I feel like that might be a place that would get a tad more readership than Royal Road would.

    • AO3 does not allow for commercial promotion. Patreon falls under that rule and we have a Patreon site. In the ToS FAQ it goes into some detail about we want the archive to remain a non-commercial space.

  3. It’s great to hear from you! I saw the Royal Road chapters and I’m very pleased to see that there’s an up-to-date source online. We really do try to keep the eBook version at its best, but it’s not everyone’s preferred format. I’ve started the process of going through the Royal Road chapters, though, to ensure that the eBook matches them (apart from the typos it fixes; do you want any help in applying those to the main story?).

Best of luck with the therapy. Is there any way your readers can help?

  4. Thank you so much for the update, I’ve been worried! I still recc both Team 8 and NoFP to people when I get the opportunity – even incomplete, they are an inspiration (and prob a good part of why I write what I do now).

I hope you find a solution for Matthew’s health, and that he’s not too miserable stuck in bed all the time. And I’m glad he has you there for him.
